Dave Stipe

Dave Stipe grew up in New England, spending his formative years learning to love and discover new music in Smithfield, RI. He made his way to Winchester, VA to study music at Shenandoah University and Conservatory. After graduation, Dave spent a few years between North Carolina and Virginia working his way through recording studios and theatreʼs until he landed in Charlottesville, VA. This seemed like it was a landing destination all along considering the incredible music scene and how well supported it is.

What brought him to Cville, was Crystalphonic Studios. He started interning and quickly was engineering records. At Crystalphonic he had the incredible opportunity to work with such artists and labels as Parachute, Blue Merle, Corey Harris, John DʼEarth Schuyler Fisk, Island/Def Jam, Red Light Management, Rounder Records and many more.


Dave started Little Rhodie Productions a short time later. It was a plan that he had even back to college years. He visioned a company that the producers/engineers were also those who would work to release and promote the that music. That came to fruition with Little Rhodie. Since then, he has continued to record and produce projects with Parachute, Sam Wilson, Carl Anderson, John Thackston, Trees On Fire, and more.
